We had a very good tour with our guide Jan. Each day was very busy with lots to see and experience. Andrei Nicolai at Compass Travel, Romania organised an excellent package. He was easy to contact and the itinerary he presented was thorough and interesting. When on the ground some things were not possible due to local circumstances our guide Jan always had a contingency. I would recommend Andrei Nicolai " Tours of Romania" without reservation. We had a great time in a very beautiful country. Regarding guides - just ask for Jan. You will not be disappointed.

We had a fabulous tour with our guide, David. We arranged transportation from Sofia to the border with Romania, where we met him. He has an engaging personality and is knowledgeable. We had an incredible tour in Bucharest. What a vibrant city. We toured Palace of Parliament. David recommended wonderful restaurants and things to do, including in Old Town. We ventured to Bran and Peles Castles, staying at a quaint hotel in Brasov. We highly recommend that city, as it is very walkable and lively. We traversed the Transfagarasan Highway. What a scenic view of the countryside.

My trip to Romania was absolutely fabulous and my guide Mircea made all the difference! The itinerary provided by Tours of Romania suited my needs and interests and MIrcea was informed about sites we visited and very accommodating to my needs. Never realized how beautiful Romania is and how much one can learn from its history. Conversations along the road with Mircea were very informative about life under Communist rule and the Gypsy life. Would highly recommend Tours of Romania and ask for Mircea as your guide!

So glad we did this 3-day trip around Transylvania. We scheduled it ourselves as a pre-trip to a Viking river cruise that started in Bucharest. We selected Tours of Romania based on reviews online and they were great. First, when asking about it, I asked for us to stay in small, local, boutique-style places (not big hotel chains). We loved our places Brasov and Sibiu - right on the town squares - exactly what we were looking for. Our guide - perfect for us. His name is Radu and by the end we felt like we had visited a family member who had showed us his country - thank you "Uncle" Radu! He was so knowledgeable on old history, recent history (having lived and worked under communism and western rule) and current events. So glad we did this tour and let him do the driving. It was a great way to start a fabulous tour of Eastern Europe on the Viking ship, too. Really happy with the entire experience with Tours of Romania and Radu, our new family member/guide.
